As part of improving our school environment, we will be conducting a ‘Sponsor a Plant’ program, to refurbish the embankment areas at the back of the classrooms. We have 220 native plants - over 30 species of shrubs, groundcovers and trees - to be planted out in Week 10 of this term.
How Can you Get Involved?
Encourage your child to purchase a plant as part of this program. They will get to plant it, water it and learn about their particular plant – what it needs to grow and how it grows and will be involved in its ongoing care. They will be contributing to improving the biodiversity of our school environment.
Purchasing of plants will take place between 8:30 am and 9:00 am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Week 9 outside the front foyer of the school. Plants will be $2 each and will be limited to one per student. As there are only 220 available this time around it will be on a first come, first served basis.
Students will have a designated time/day in Week 10 to plant out their plant and will be notified of when this will be. Parents/carers are welcome to join us.
