Stories and highlights
There is always something to celebrate at Thurgoona Public School!
Every day brings new opportunities to learn, achieve, connect and celebrate. From outstanding achievements in the classroom, on the sporting field and on the stage, to exciting excursions, special events, community celebrations and those wonderful everyday moments that make school life memorable, we are proud to share the stories of our students and staff. Our highlights capture the energy, spirit and sense of belonging that make Thurgoona Public School such a vibrant place to learn, grow and thrive.
A year at our school
This August, we proudly celebrated Education Week, centred around the theme: “Inspiring Excellence”. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the achievements of our students, showcase their skills and strengthen the connection between school and community.
Our celebrations began with a community breakfast, bringing together students, families, and staff in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This was followed by a whole-school assembly, after which families had an opportunity to visit open classrooms, witnessing first-hand the creativity, engagement and growth happening every day in our school.
Our Kindergarten students celebrated a very exciting milestone—100 days of school! And what better way to celebrate than by transforming into wise 100-year-olds!
Kindergarten had a fantastic day taking part in a range of fun activities to mark the occasion. Students designed their own 100 Days crowns, wrote about the number 100, created hilarious 100-year-old self-portraits, and enjoyed plenty of hands-on learning throughout the day. To top it all off, they danced the afternoon away at a special 100 Days Disco in the hall!
It's incredible to think how much our Kindergarten students have grown over the past 100 days. They have learnt new skills, made wonderful friendships and become more confident learners each and every day.
100 days smarter and so many more adventures ahead!
The SRC organised a Pyjama Day fundraiser for The Pyjama Foundation to support children living in foster care.
The SRC were proud to donate $363.00 to this very worthy cause.
Everyone was excited to wear their pyjamas to school on such a cold, wintery day!

I love being part of the school choir. Singing with my friends is really fun! Mrs White makes us feel confident and helps us improve. Performing at the Eisteddfod was exciting and has helped me build my confidence. Choir is definitely one of the best parts of being at school."
