Years 3 to 6 Athletics Carnival

Our school athletics carnival will be held on Wednesday, 8 May 2024. We have secured the back-up date of Friday 10th May 2024, in case of unforeseen circumstances. All students in Years 3-6 are to attend. The emphasis of the carnival is participation by all children.  

Only the finals of the field events will take place on the day. Field event trials take place at school prior to the actual carnival. Students will be told prior to the day if they are competing in the field events at the carnival. All students will participate in 100m and 200m races. Students can elect to participate in the 800m and 1500m. 

Competition is on a Sport House basis and children are encouraged to wear their house colours as set out below. 

BANJORA: Red

BOOLGANA: Yellow

TAMAROO: Blue

WAREEN: Green 

Details are as follows:

VENUE:  Les O'Brien Sport Precinct, Albury 

TIME:   Depart school at 9:00am, return by 2:30pm

DATE:  Wednesday 8 May 2024 (the back-up date of Friday 10th May 2024)

TRAVEL: All students will travel on the bus  

CANTEEN:    Kiosk will be available from approx. 10am-1pm. 

COST:   $9.00 to cover the cost of grounds hire, timing equipment hire and bus fare. 

REQUIREMENTS:   

* School sports uniform.  

* Drink bottle/s (labelled).    

* Recess and lunch. 

* Sunscreen and school hat. 

* Asthma puffers if needed (please ensure they can be carried with your child and are labelled).  

* If you are taking your child home from the event, parents/guardians must sign out with the team manager before leaving.  

Please return payment and permission via Sentral by Monday 29th April 2024.
