Years 3 to 6 School Cross Country Carnival

Thurgoona Public School's annual Cross Country Carnival will take place on Wednesday 2nd April 2025 at the Albury/Wodonga Equestrian Centre on Corrys Road. The Cross Country Carnival is an annual school event and all students in Year 3-6 are expected to attend. On arrival at the event students will have the opportunity to walk the course so that they can familiarise themselves with the course layout. The first 7 students to cross the finish line will have the opportunity to represent our school at the Albury Zone PSSA Cross Country Carnival early in Term 2.

Date: Wednesday 2nd April 2025

Venue: Albury/Wodonga Equestrian Centre, Corrys Road Thurgoona

Departure Time: Students will depart school at 11:15am (immediately after eating lunch)

Return Time: Students will return to school by 2:45pm (in time for early buses)

Event Coordinators: Mr Ronan Smith and Mr Tim Shoard

Supervision: Class Teachers and Support Staff

Transport: Students will travel to and from the event by bus

Cost: $6 per student (includes venue hire and transport)

What to wear: Running shoes, sports uniform, sunscreen and hat. (House Colours are optional). Banjoras (Red), Tamaroos (Blue), Boolganas (Yellow) and Wareens (Green).

What to bring: Recess, snack and plenty to drink. Students will eat their lunch at school before departing for the carnival, canteen orders are available (for lunch only)

Permission and Payment due: Please provide permission and payment via the Sentral Parent Portal by no later than Wednesday 26th March 2025.

Alternative Date: If for any reason our carnival is postponed, our backup date will be Tuesday 8th April 2025. Any change of date will be communicated via the Sentral Parent Portal.
